Freemans Solicitors are proud to support two runners who are taking part in this year’s London Marathon – Rebecca Yau and Matthew Field.
Rebecca Yau is taking part in this year’s marathon – she is running for Cancer Research UK and NHS Charities Together. Rebecca was due to run in 2025 but then became ill with cancer. Following successful surgery and treatment she returned to training and amazingly is running this year!
As if this wasn’t remarkable enough, during the surgery, nerves in Rebecca’s right leg were damaged and she was unable to walk. Over the last 10 months, Rebecca has focused not only on her general health recovery but rehabilitation and physio to build the strength up in her leg again.
Her right leg is not yet fully recovered, and probably never will but Rebecca is determined to soldier on and hopefully finish the whole 26.2 miles.

Matthew is running the 2026 London Marathon for the Runnymede Trust – the UK’s leading race-equality think-tank. Runnymede has spent almost 60 years driving racial justice, shaping national conversations, challenging harmful policies, and elevating the voices of communities too often ignored.
