Gopal Bhudia

Gopal specialises in conveyancing.  He joined Freemans after qualifying as a solicitor in 2001, and became a partner in 2007.

With years of previous experience in mechanical engineering, Gopal retrained and now handles the sale of new build and converted residential developments, from acquisition of the site to final sales of individual flats, as well as existing residential and commercial property sales and purchases, both freehold and leasehold.

He also deals with commercial lease renewals, both from the landlord and the tenant perspectives, as well as residential lease extensions.  Gopal’s client base includes individuals, small business and companies, both UK and off shore.

Gopal has experience of acquisitions of pharmacy and dental practices as going concerns, with a property element. He handles site acquisitions for development/conversion to residential, and plot sales/grant of long leases on conversion of buildings.

Gopal’s client base is a mixture of individuals purchasing their first home at one end of the spectrum to individuals and Special Purpose Vehicle companies acquiring entire share capital of other Special Purpose Vehicle companies with property assets at the other. The value of the transactions ranges from £100,000 to £10,000,000 plus.

Gopal is fluent in Gujarati and speaks some Hindi. His hobbies include playing the Scottish bagpipes as a member of a London based pipe band, which he has been perfecting since 1979, and teaching younger members of the community to play the instrument.

In his spare time, he travels all over the world with the pipe band, helping to raise money for charity and natural disaster relief.  Among other notable events, Gopal has performed at Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and, in November 2015 took part in a performance at London’s Wembley Stadium where the Prime Ministers of India and UK were present.
