Lorraine De Guzman qualified as a Solicitor in August 2020. Lorraine joined Freemans Solicitors in June 2021 as a Solicitor in the Immigration Department.
Lorraine has experience in a wide range of immigration law, specifically in dealing with cases within the Immigration Rules for entry clearance and in-country applications.
Lorraine’s caseload includes both private and legal aid clients. Her private client work includes inter alia entry clearance and in-country applications as well as further leave to remain applications, settlement, naturalisation; and registration applications. In addition to covering the same areas of work for legal aid clients, Lorraine also undertakes; asylum and human rights cases, appeals, deportation and domestic violence. Lorraine also has experience with Judicial Review claims challenging the Secretary of State’s unlawful refusal to accept further submissions as a fresh claim, asylum delay cases and unlawful detention claims.
Lorraine is fully accredited as a Level 2 Caseworker under the Law Society’s Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme. Lorraine also holds DBS Enhanced status which enables her to represent vulnerable clients such as victims of trafficking, victims of torture and unaccompanied minors. Lorraine has also represented clients at the First-tier Tribunal.
Lorraine studied Law and completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Westminster in London.
Lorraine speaks Tagalog.
