Savita Sharma

Savita is a specialist in all aspects of family and child law. 

She has extensive expertise in English divorce/annulment/civil partnerships, with linked financial proceedings and child related matters. She represents individuals at all levels of Court across England & Wales. She deals with the full range of family law, with high net value and complex matrimonial finance cases, with a particular proficiency in jurisdictional cases (in divorce, financial and children matters as between England and Scotland and other Countries) where forum is in dispute, and children cases involving intra-UK and relocation cases. She regularly advises cohabitees and Interveners.  She possesses civil expertise in Trusts of Law and Appointment of Trustees Act.  She also advises and prepares Pre and Post nuptial agreements where necessary to protect non matrimonial property many where assets span across the UK and further afield.

Savita Sharma is Dual Qualified solicitor having qualified in England & Wales since 1998 and in Scotland since 2015. She is a Consultant Solicitor in the Family Department. 

Savita is a  Member of the Law Society’s Advanced Family Panel (England & Wales) since 2004 so is an accredited specialist in Complex Ancillary Relief and Private Children Law.  She has also been a Resolution trained English Family Mediator since November 2022. 

As an English Family Mediator, Savita brings added strength to Freemans existing Alternative Dispute Resolution offering.  As English mediator she can co-mediate with her Scottish mediator colleagues in offering mediation in cross border and jurisdictional disputes where jurisdiction is or likely to be in dispute in financial and child cases in Intra UK cases.    

Due to her Intra UK qualifications and experience, Savita is often instructed directly by clients and other organisations who are based across the UK and abroad who require advice on Intra UK Divorce, related financial matters and relocation or return of children from other parts of the UK. 

Savita has also delivered many seminars/webinars on the topic of Intra UK matters and English topical issues for the Law Society of Scotland and other organisations.
